As we continue with the attempt to explore what redemption and forgiveness might look like in the context of the Eight Virtues, we should probably look to Ultima lore for examples of characters who have done just that: gone against one (or more) of the Virtues and come back from that. Lord Blackthorn would be an obvious case (though he didn’t achieve reconciliation), but for the moment, let’s focus on another example of where the player is forced to choose between upholding one Virtue at the expense of another: the character creation questions of Ultima 4, Ultima 5, Ultima 6, and Ultima 9.
