The virtue of Humility, in Ultima lore and in real life, is one of the more difficult virtues to describe. In fact, it is often easier to analyze by looking at what it is not, rather than at what it is.
Saint Josemaria Escriva, in life a Catholic priest, was a philosopher who mused quite a lot on the concept of Humility, and in one of his “Furrows” (writings), he put forth a list of signs of a lack of humility. The seventeen points on this list will form the basis of this Byte-Sized Virtue season; if all goes well, we’ll handle one a week, but if need be we’ll consider multiple signs in a single episode.
This week offers a brief – very brief – look at the fourth sign: “Giving your opinion without being asked for it, when charity does not demand you to do so.”
