The last numbered Spam Spam Spam Humbug episode — we checked! — was recorded and published in September of 2021…which means that it has been far, far too long since the gang got together to chat about everything and nothing all at once. And. It. Shows. To say that this discussion ranges over a variety of topics would, of course, be both an understatement and entirely truthful…but even more importantly, it’s clear that we all needed to have a chat together, as a fan community, about random things.
We had fun with this one, in short.
Some standout moments include Harmony Dragon expounding at length on why Square Enix is kind of a jerk, as gaming publishers go, which then leads to a larger discussion about non-fungible tokens (NFTs), why gamers hate them, and…well…Richard Garriott’s late-in-the-game attempt to cash in on the crypto craze with the announcement of a new, blockchain-based MMORPG.
